Dear Yuletide Writer 2022

Thank you so much for writing for me! I would honestly love anything for any of these characters, and I'm very excited to see what you come up with, so please know that the prompts below are just ideas, not meant to be binding or exclusive in any way. If you have something in mind that you love and has nothing to do with any of my prompts, please feel absolutely free to write that. If you have fun writing it, I'll have fun reading it! ♥

I've requested all of these fandoms before except State of Terror, so if you want to go poking around the other letters on this journal for further prompts and to find out more of what I like about these canons, feel free! I'm still a fan of anything I've requested in the past. I enjoy AUs, crossovers, unusual formats (epistolary fic, poetry, in-universe documents, really anything!), any rating, any type of relationship, plot or no plot, smut or no smut, any level of consent, dubcon, or nonconsent. There's so much that I like and not a whole lot I don't, so please write anything you like and I will love it.

I have treats enabled on my AO3, which is [archiveofourown.org profile] VanaTuivana.

DNWs: noncanonical death of requested characters, horror, zombies, explicitly-described gore or major injury, A/B/O, unrequested gender changes or gender headcanons.

Moon Knight (Comics)
Soldier
Marc Spector

Soldier is my favorite new character introduced in the current run of the comic, and I would dearly love to read anything about his relationship with Marc. The run-into-certain-death-for-you and obey-orders-without-question loyalty is everything with these two. Also, Soldier wearing the Mr. Knight suit. Also also, I really need Marc figuring out how to look Soldier in the eye after his vampire transformation which he blames himself for, and Soldier reassuring him that he's fine with it. And maybe blood-drinking. I mean, if you want.

I'd be happy to see their relationship develop into a closer friendship, or for there to be a whole lot of sexual tension that breaks. I'm all about that clothes-sharing thing, and also the two of them understanding a lot about each other without really saying much out loud. Marc for sure gets Soldier, as a young man who went into soldiering for the wrong reasons and fought for the wrong people and carries a lot of guilt about that, and I'd love to see that connection explored in fic.

(Note: I'm currently all caught up on canon [that issue 16, GOSH, what an ending!] and am reading each new issue as soon as I can get my hot little hands on it, so feel free to incorporate anything that comes out in new installments canon or not, whatever you prefer.)

State of Terror - Hillary Clinton & Louise Penny
Gil Bahar
Hamza

I'm so into Gil, the Secretary of State's investigative-journalist son, and his freedom-fighter/terrorist friend Hamza who's saved his life more than once. They have such a great vibe of a friendship forged by fire and mutual need, trusting when they really shouldn't, and sticking their necks out for each other because despite all appearances they're more alike than different, and I ship it a lot and would love to see them get together however that might happen (though I'd also be thrilled to get gen friendship fic!).

Anything exploring their shared past would be lovely: time spent hiding out together, keeping in touch throughout the years despite the miles and oceans that separated them, reuniting after the events of the novel -- I have to believe that Hamza survives despite the dangerous situation we leave him in, because he can get out of anything! Getting to know Hamza being the reason Gil got in touch with his Muslim heritage and became religious is also a neat story that would be so interesting to explore. And anything about the significance of the story of Gilgamesh and the lion that's important to their shared history would be fantastic.

Murdle (Video Game)
Inspector Irratino
Deductive Logico

I'm kind of obsessed with this game and with the main characters, two weird murdle-solving friends/rivals who go on dates every Sunday and should definitely kiss! I like them as middle-aged or older dudes who have been solving bizarre crimes for decades, but I'm definitely open to any way you see the characters as well. Seriously, anything would be just lovely.

The two of them working a case together, and Logico finally solving the biggest mystery of them all: why Irratino keeps faking his own death to test him. Maybe the continuation of one of their weekly dates, or it gets interrupted by one of the villains who are always promising Logico that they'll get payback for putting them in the luxury high-end international rich-people prison. Maybe Logico gets framed for a murder and sent to that luxury high-end international rich-people prison himself, and Irratino is forced to use logic to free him, or vice versa and Logico has to use the irrational? :D I'd also be very interested in exploring their history and the existential weirdness of the world they inhabit with its supernatural crime-solving and color-themed suspects if that's something you like as well. Or on the flip side of that, what if they had to work together to solve a case (feel free to steal one from another canon or from Murdle itself) using real-world rules with none of their usual logic-puzzle or esoteric hints to guide them? Could they do it??

Mysteries of Udolpho - Ann Radcliffe
Cavigni
Montoni

A longtime favorite Gothic novel with such delicious bad guys. I am in love with the pairing of Montoni and Cavigni: villain and henchman, always a classic. Can they have a dissolute, hedonistic interval together in Venice before it all goes bad? Can they have an AU happy-ish ending of some kind?

If you're not feeling the slash in this fandom, I think an exploration of Cavigni's loyalty to Montoni and why he spends all his time following him around, and the consequences for his own life/family/relationships, would be fascinating. Or maybe something dealing with Montoni's duel with Count Morano, when Cavigni steps in to stop Montoni from killing the Count; I love that scene and would adore anything to do with that moment. If you want to expand on the historical setting and toss in a real live 16th-century historical figure or two, or do any kind of crossover whatsoever, it would delight me to no end.
