Original Works Opportunity 2025

Thank you so much for creating an original work for me! I would honestly love anything for any of these relationship tags, and I'm very excited to see what you come up with, so please know that the prompts below are just ideas, not meant to be binding or exclusive in any way. If you have something in mind that you love and has nothing to do with any of my prompts, please feel absolutely free to create that. If you have fun writing it, I'll have fun reading it! ♥

In general, for OW I'm always happy with any take on the characters, settings, and plots that may be suggested by the relationships selected; feel free to do whatever interests you with them and take the tags as literally or as loosely as you want -- make the 'king' a medieval conqueror or a space emperor, make the 'mob boss' a 1920s Chicago gangster or a magic-using king of thieves (or both!), set the 'highwaymen' in the 1700s English countryside or a cyberpunk future metropolis, etc. I love worldbuilding and specificity and rich description; I love learning about a new setting through descriptions of its clothing, celebrations, architecture, pop culture, laws, historical figures, how values and beliefs are passed on (folk tales, songs, aphorisms, religious maxims, whatever!), and in general its cultural norms and the breaking of those norms.

All my requests are for both fic and art; the two sets have slightly different DNWs, so please mind that! I have treats enabled on my AO3, which is [archiveofourown.org profile] VanaTuivana.

REQUEST #1: M/M+, No Archive Warnings Apply only!
These relationships are the ones where I don't want any noncon or persistent unhappiness! I'm totally fine with them starting off unenthusiastically or dubiously consensual due to their circumstances, but please let everything shake out okay by the end for these guys.

DNWs: death of requested characters (but death of any side characters is fine), any kind of zombies, explicitly-described or pictured gore, hopeless/unremittingly bad endings (bittersweet is fine, just let there be some hope and happiness mixed in with the sad!), requested characters being trans/agender/nonbinary (but any other characters outside the main pairing can be any of those).

Male General Who Returned/Male Childhood Friend He Wants to Marry/Hostage Prince General Has To Marry: This sounds like a fascinatingly complex tangle of duty vs. love! Why has the general not already married the childhood friend (was he not allowed to by his lord/king/emperor? was he going to wait until he came back home for good, so as not to risk making his beloved a widower during the war?) and why does he have to marry the hostage prince? Is there a lot of tension and belligerence between the general and the prince -- after all, the general did just come back from perhaps years of fighting against the prince's people/family/friends -- and can his old friend act as a bridge of peace and understanding between them? Or have the general and his friend been silently mutually pining for too many years and it takes the prince bursting into the middle of their dynamic to clear a path for them to be honest about their feelings? Is there a gap in cultural expectations about marriage, where the prince is supposed to be humiliated by being forced into marriage to the man who conquered his people, but is actually honored or pleased to serve as the instrument of peace (and maybe also kind of horny about it, and expects sex and companionship where the general had thought it was going to be a grim platonic marriage in name only)? Are poly marriages allowed in the prince's land and not in the general's, so they're both confused by each other's assumptions? I'd love an age gap here with the general and his friend being older and the prince much younger. I'd also love this as either a full triangle or as a 'hinge' relationship, with any of the three characters as the central point!

King Who Thought He Was Widowed/His New Husband/His First Husband Back From the Dead: Another one that's so complex and full of feelings on all sides! I'd love some exploration of why the first husband was presumed dead (and was he really, and if so how/why did he come back?) and how the king moved on. I think it would be fascinating if the first marriage was arranged but blossomed into love before the husband's 'death', and the king grieved him whole-heartedly for a long time before meeting the new husband and maybe that one was a love match from the start? Or vice versa, with the first marriage being a love match and the second out of political need. All kinds of jealousy and hurt feelings and competition between the two husbands would be delightful, especially if it also involves a lot of simmering sexual tension between them. I'd be very into a big age gap with the new husband being much younger than the king and his first husband -- or maybe, with having been dead for a number of years and all, the first husband and the new husband are now the same age and both much younger than the king? I'm very into the political and legal schemes and maneuvering around this situation; maybe the two husbands were from rival families/factions and it's Very Important to a lot of very powerful people which one is now legally the king's consort, and whether a poly solution is legally possible... as above, I'd love this as either a full triangle or a 'hinge' relationship!

Warrior King/His Bookish New Husband: I just think these guys could be sweet and an interesting marriage of opposites. :) If this is an arranged marriage, are they from two completely different cultures where valor in battle is valued in the king's land vs. intellectual pursuits in the husband's, or was the bookish husband chosen for skills/knowledge that complement his new spouse's? How did they even meet: is the bookish husband a nobleman/prince in his own right, or could he be the former palace librarian, a tutor to the king's young siblings (or his young kids from a previous marriage), a monk about to take his vows who was plucked out of the monastery to become the king's new husband for whatever reason? Did they spend any time together before or after their marriage, do they know each other at all, do they communicate long-distance via letters while the king is off fighting and the husband stays at home (epistolary fic would be fun!)? I'd love an awkward relationship where neither is really sure what to make of the other at first, but they find some kind of common ground and build a strong relationship with romance and/or smut!

Lonely Alien Retiree/Young Human Mail Order Spouse: I just love the potential worldbuilding that would lead to this pairing -- is this Wild West In Space, or some kind of bureaucratic dystopia In Space, or a cheery romantic comedy of errors (In Space)? Any of that would be so neat! Is the human what the alien expected/is the alien what the human expected/do they even know what they expected from each other, or did all this happen on a whim or as a bet? Is alien/human a normal pairing in this world, or are the alien's family/friends/neighbors scandalized by this wild late-life-crisis interspecies marriage? Do they even speak the same language, are they even sexually compatible? I'd love any kind of slow build of romance, differing expectations for marriage, expecting hurt/more loneliness and receiving comfort -- and if you want to create some weird xeno smut between two people whose sex bits don't exactly slot neatly together but they're very invested in making it happen anyway, I'd be so into that.

Gruff Alien General/Different Alien Charming Prince Who Is His Betrothed: Aliens! :D So why are these two different aliens betrothed, anyway: are they an odd-couple romance who are inexplicably in love despite the challenges, is it an arrangement for an alliance between their people, or a conqueror/war prize kind of situation? Anything would be fun here! I'd love something with differing cultural expectations for what this marriage means and working through their individual expectations to come to a mutual understanding, respect, and romance and/or sex! On the smuttier side of things, anything xeno where their two species may not be very sexually compatible, or are but not in the way they expected (maybe one of them is an mpreg species and the other is not), would be great.

Highwayman/Rival Highwayman: The idea of this ship just delights me. I'd love any kind of swashbuckling, oneupmanship and belligerent sexual tension between these two! Have they been rivals for a long time, or is one of them a legend and one an upstart youngster coming for his infamy? Maybe they are former partners (and lovers?) or a mentor/protege who had a falling-out, or worked together on a job that ended badly, or one betrayed the other? Maybe there's some identity porn or class-difference tension at play; I'm very into the idea of the gentleman-thief in disguise (maybe for an honorable reason, maybe he's just a rogue?) and of the poor guy who turns to crime for social justice or to avenge wrongs done by the rich, and playing those two types against each other would be fun! Anything with one of them being arrested and condemned to death and the other making a daring rescue and them riding off together to safety would be so grand, but honestly, I'd just eat up any kind of story here.

Prince in Disguise/Commoner Who Saved Him From Danger: I'm very intrigued by this pairing! Why is the prince in disguise: did he just sneak out of the castle to have some fun, was he fleeing an unwanted marriage, was there a revolution and he had to flee ahead of the mob coming for his head? Does the commoner have negative feelings about the prince or the monarchy in general, is he a revolutionary, is he just minding his own business politically speaking but can't ignore someone who needs help? Is the prince spoiled and haughty and quickly put in his place by a no-nonsense commoner, is he adaptable and eager to embrace his new circumstances and see how the other 99% live, is it shocking or thrilling to be treated with a distinct lack of deference and be a nobody like everybody else and be free to have an affair with a wildly unsuitable man? And what is his disguise, anyway, and is it really believable? And the commoner: a farmer, a craftsman, a priest or religious figure, a soldier, a criminal? How does he find out the prince's true identity and what happens then -- can their relationship survive if the prince goes back to his real life, or can he renounce his position/stay incognito and live a normal life afterwards? I would love an age gap with a young prince and an older commoner who takes him under his wing, or an older prince and a young commoner who is the first guy who's ever been into him without ulterior motives, or whatever! I do love a happy ending, but I'm fine with a bittersweet one where they can't be together and they accept that.

Virgin Who Writes Gay Erotica/His Enthusiastic Regular Commenter I think this could be so adorable and sweet and could go so many ways! Maybe the virgin writer doesn't even think of himself as into men, he just writes gay smut because that's where the money is, and his interaction with this other guy who loves his work helps him realize the truth about himself? Or maybe he's closeted IRL and pours all his longing and desires into his work. Do they already know each other in real life and don't know it, are they actual strangers who only know each other through the written word, do they have some kind of a meet-cute at a fan convention? Are they what each other expects from what they project in their writing, or totally different? I feel like this could be set in any era -- modern-day with the internet, historical with some kind of magazine/underground racy book exchange and anonymous reviews or letters to the author, futuristic where the virgin is an android/sentient AI and his biggest fan is a human?! However you want to set it up would be very fun! I would also absolutely love this one as a mixed-media/epistolary-type project with excerpts of the virgin's work and/or the commenter's reviews if you're into that.

REQUEST #2: M/M+, Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings, No Archive Warnings Apply, Rape/Non-Con, and/or Underage Sex
These relationships are the ones where I'm totally fine with noncon and persistent unhappiness, and equally fine with really any level of consent and happiness, whatever you're feeling for these ones would be great!

DNWs: death of requested characters (but death of any side characters is fine), any kind of zombies, explicitly-described or pictured gore, requested characters being trans/agender/nonbinary (but any other characters outside the main pairing can be any of those).

Space-Orc Warlord/Beautiful Alien Boy Given As Tribute: Ohoho, I'm kind of a sucker for a warlord/tribute situation and making it ALIENS is even more fun! I'd love some exploration of their different cultures and expectations -- did the warlord request/demand the beautiful alien boy in particular, or was this a surprise when he expected his tribute to be paid in money/treasure as usual and he's non-returnable so he has to figure out what to do with the kid? Did the boy volunteer as tribute or was he chosen for his beauty or his talents -- is he a valued prince, an expendable former soldier/servant/priest hastily cleaned up and sent off as a sacrifice, is he a highly trained courtesan and/or a honeypot spy?! You could go so many ways with this and I'd love them all -- the traditional merciless warlord having a self-indulgent good time nonconning/dubconning his prize, or the alien boy seducing his surprisingly conflicted honorable new master (because it's his duty, for an ulterior motive, or because he wants to), or a surprising and tender romance… I'd very much love some xeno smut with size difference for this one, but anything goes!

A Gentleman Pregnant outside of Wedlock/His Valet who is not the father: I really love the idea of this one taken in an obsessive/one-sided direction. The valet is the servant who knows his gentleman most intimately and might be the first one to know that he's pregnant, maybe even before his master does, and has lots of opportunities to get his hands all over him and manipulate him while he's in such a vulnerable position. Is the valet a brilliant dark mastermind who subtly encouraged or arranged for the gentleman to get knocked up by someone unsuitable (anything from 'sabotaged his birth control knowing that his secret boyfriend would break up with him if he got pregnant' to 'arranged for a criminal gang to drug/sex-pollen him and noncon breed him') so he could be the gentle, kind rescuer who could help him and comfort him and whom he would come to depend on and even love? Or on the exact opposite side of the coin, I'd also absolutely adore a sweet class-divide romance between a loyal, silently pining valet and the gentleman who's never noticed how much he depends on him (or his own feelings) until he's left high and dry with an unexpected/unwanted pregnancy and his valet is the only one who stands by him. This ship contains multitudes and I'm really here for any direction you want to take this!

Supervillain Who Joins The Hero Team/ Superhero Who Doubts They've Reformed: What a delicious dynamic of uncertain allegiances and mistrust and mistaken assumptions and tension of all sorts! Has the (former?) supervillain actually reformed, or is it a complicated double-cross and the superhero is right to have suspicions, or did the villain intend to betray the heroes but have his mind changed by falling in love, or…? Maybe they've both been in the cape game for a while and there's a lot of history between them and both of them are well aware of the shades of gray in their line of work, or it's a grizzled veteran supervillain who's growing tired of the game vs. an overeager young hero who sees everything as very black and white, or they were kid superhero sidekicks (and secret boyfriends?) together who went different directions and now the supervillain is regretting what he gave up? If you want to take it in a noncon or dubcon direction, either one could be the aggressor -- the supervillain really is not reformed, as the hero finds out firsthand when he's betrayed and imprisoned in the villain's secret lair! Or it could be extremely fun if the hero is an 'ends justify the means' kind of guy who is determined to prove the villain's villainy at any cost and will do anything he has to do to break his facade of reform.

Mob Boss/Undercover Detective Infiltrating His Organization: This sounds like it could also be very exciting and tense with a lot of conflict and danger and hidden agendas all over! What kind of crimes is the mob boss getting up to, and in what capacity is the detective infiltrating his gang, and what kind of unsavory or illegal things does he have to do to maintain his cover? Was a relationship with the mob boss part of the plan going in, or did it come as a surprise, and do his bosses know about that aspect of his infiltration (and maybe ordered him to pursue the relationship once it was clear the mob boss was into their inside man, as a way to get even closer to the target), or is it something he's keeping from them, whether because it's not allowed and may compromise the investigation and he's in too deep to pull out now or because he does genuinely start to have feelings for this mobster he knows as a real and genuinely decent person despite all his crimes? I think this could be a really sweet forbidden romance, and maybe when the dust settles they could even find a way to be together without the undercover? Alternatively, this could be really great in a dark, twisted, dubcon/noncon scenario where the mob boss knows the detective is a fraud and is interested in finding out just how far he'll go to sell his cover, or where he uncovers the imposter and takes what he wants from him. This is just a neat pairing and I'd be very interested in anything with them!

Recently-orphaned son of famous artist/Father's old friend and patron who has taken him in as ward: I think this one has issues of power imbalance and complicated relationship history and grief and hurt/comfort written all over it and I'm really fascinated by all the things one could do with it, so feel free to go anywhere you like here! A large age gap is great; I would prefer the son to be mid-to-late teens to early twenties, and the patron at least old enough to be his father, but really there's no upper limit there, please do whatever you find fun! Was the patron close to the son his whole life, saw him growing up, and already had pseudo-paternal feelings for him that morph into something very different now that he's living in his house? Or maybe the famous artist wasn't even close to his son, who grew up with his other parent, and they're essentially strangers when the patron takes him in as his ward. Does the son also have artistic or other talents for the patron to nurture? Does the patron expect him to repay his kindness with sexual favors (as maybe he also expected of the father), or is the newly-orphaned and traumatized son so afraid of being cast out that he thinks he has to offer his new patron sex in exchange for his protection? I'd be just as into this as a complicated but generally consensual age-gap romance as I would a very dubcon seduction of the innocent! …okay, and I'd also be very into a secret incest scenario here: maybe only the patron knows that he's the one who knocked up his artist sugar-baby years ago, and it's a doubly illicit thrill for him to seduce his young ward who is also his own unacknowledged bastard son, gasp!!
